Aspen Music Festival is an annual summer event held in the former silver-mining boom town of Aspen, Colorado. The festival showcases more than 200 musical events in nine weeks and serves as a summer retreat for many of world’s greatest musical minds, who play there not only to perform but also to teach, learn and to be renewed in the art.
Aspen Music Festival and Music School was founded under the auspices of The Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies in 1949. Since then, the Aspen Music Festival has been organized every summer and presents itself as a rare opportunity for young talent to brush shoulders with the exponents of various artistic domains. Concerts, symphonies, chamber music concerts, opera, and special events or recitals are the order of those musical weeks in Colorado.
