Goldey-Beacom College is situated in Pike Creek Valley in Wilmington, Delaware, a major industrial center in the Mid-Atlantic region. The private, coeducational college offers bachelors and masters degree courses in all areas of business. The college conducts degree courses in accounting, finance, management, human resource management, marketing, computer information systems, international business, and management information systems.
The college has yet to incorporate an online school as part of their program offering.
Situated on 24 acres, Goldey-Beacom College was established in September 1886, by H.S. Goldey under the name Wilmington Commercial College. One of Goldey`s best instructors, W.H. Beacom parted in 1900 and opened a new college. In 1951, the two college entities merged into one giving rise to today`s Goldey-Beacom College. The college moved to its present suburban Pike Creek campus in 1974. First accredited by the Middle States Association in 1976, Goldey-Beacom started baccalaureate degree programs in 1978. The college started its first MBA program in 1992. It has been awarded a full 10-year accreditation as a school of business to offer bachelors and masters degrees. The college offers a caring, wholesome, intellectually stimulating learning environment to its students. Goldey-Beacom College is accredited by Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, Department of Public Instruction, State of Delaware, and U.S. Department of Education. In addition to business courses, the college provides a broad general education consisting of communications, mathematics, the humanities, and social sciences, and a learning environment which is caring and supportive, yet challenging and rigorous. Goldey-Beacom’s mission is to provide students with an in-depth preparation in their major field of business study in order to facilitate their successful entry into a career; to maintain up-to-date curricula which are responsive to current and future needs of students, and to assure technological literacy for all students. Goldey-Beacom has four apartment-style residence halls. Academics and administration departments are situated in the Fulmer Center, while the Joseph West Jones Center houses the library, gymnasium, fitness center, cantina, chapel, and bookstore.
