Heartland Health is an integrated, non-profit health delivery system in St. Joseph, Missouri. Founded in 1984, Heartland Health was formed by the consolidation of Methodist Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital.
As a leading facility in a 21-county area of northwest Missouri, it strives to enhance the health status of the individuals and community it serves.
Exceptional inpatient and outpatient services are offered through the Heartland Regional Medical Center, located on Faraon Street east of I-29.
It has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals in the nation for orthopedic and heart specialties and was recently honored with the Distinguished Hospital Award for clinical excellence.
Centers of excellence are the Heart Center, New Beginnings Birthing Center, Cancer Center, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedics services.
Other areas of practice include adult infectious diseases, diabetics/endocrinology, pediatric, pulmonary rehabilitation, radiology, sleep disorder, mental health, and wound care.
The Heartland Health Business Plaza, at 137 N. Belt Highway, offers wellness programs, counseling, and financial services. It engages in a series of corporate community health services such as screenings, immunization, lifestyle coaching, weight loss programs, and Employee Assistance Programs.
Heartland Health’s Northwest Missouri Area Health Education Center, a part of the Missouri Area Health Education Center system, delivers continuing education and community health education activities. It also provides clinical training for medical students and health professionals.
