About Us

U-S-History.com has been made possible by Online Highways. Online Highways, a leader in Internet travel information and reservations, is committed to the belief that an understanding of history enriches the travel experience, as well as the overall human experience.

U-S-History is a work in progress. Please let us know if you fail to find the topic of your interest. We regret that we lack the time and resources to assist students individually with their papers, projects and assignments.

Jack Gassen earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Gonzaga University. He has both a Social Studies (6-12) and English Language Learner (K-12) endorsement as a certified teacher in the state of Washington, as well as a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certificate.
"In Fall 2020, I wrote my senior thesis on the history of the State of Jefferson movement in southern Oregon/northern California, including its inception, development, and present form," says Gassen about one of his first in-depth forays into historical writing. "I found the modern push for statehood fascinating and it taught me a lot about how one actually goes about being a historian."
Jack began contributing to U-S-history.com in 2021. In his free time, he plays music, basketball, and video games, reads, or goes down the nearest Internet rabbit hole.
