Museum of Natural History and Planetarium
Founded in 1896

The Museum of Natural History, located in Providence, is Rhode Island's only natural history museum and is home to the state's only planetarium.

The museum was founded in 1896 and is part of the Roger Williams National Memorial Park, which was established in 1872. It houses more than 250,000 objects, of which about 85 percent relates to natural history and 15 percent cultural materials.
