Attorneys General

The chief lawyer in the United States is the Attorney General. He or she is appointed by the president, with the approval of the Senate, and serves in the Cabinet.

The Attorney General heads the Department of Justice and represents the government in legal matters. He or she is responsible for enforcing federal laws, especially criminal statutes.
