Located in Santa Barbara, California, Fielding Graduate University is a renowned graduate institution offering doctoral, masters, and certificate programs to mid-career adults worldwide.

It is an accredited, nonprofit graduate institution organized into three schools. They are the School of Psychology; the School of Human and Organization Development; and the School of Educational Leadership and Change.

Founded in 1974, Fielding Graduate University is the realization of the vision of three founders: Frederic Hudson, Hallock Hoffman, and Renata Tesch. They envisioned an institution that prepares its mid-career professionals to serve as reflective professionals through its innovative doctoral and masterís programs, collaborative learning model, and continuing professional education.

With these concepts in mind, the founders designed a graduate school that would change the traditional graduate education system, and increases significant academic and professional skills, and create a prestigious national learning community in the behavioral sciences.

The fourth president of Fielding Graduate University, Judith L. Kuipers, accomplished remarkable achievements. She positioned Fielding as a major prototype of a 21st-century graduate university and introduced the first doctoral program in "Media Psychology," in the world.

A global pioneer in distributed learning in higher education, the university presently serves 1,400 students, 1,500 alumni, and more than 120 faculty members throughout the United States and the world. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
