The park is named for the historic lighthouse, built in 1898, located adjacent to the park. The lighthouse was built as a navigational aid for Point Chehalis at the south entrance to Grays Harbor.
The park features easy pedestrian access to the beach, picnicking, fishing, clamming, horseback riding, kite flying, surfing, scuba diving and beach combing.
The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and covers about a quarter million acres.
