Theler Wetlands

Located on the "toe" of the Hood Canal.

This 135-acre site is home to many species of wildlife and plants.

Visitors can explore the freshwater marsh, observe the interplay of the tides in the saltwater marsh, visit the estuary where the Union River meets Hood Canal, stroll on the banks of the Union River and search for river otter slides, or experience the feeling of mystery in the forested wetlands.

The trail system is designed to be barrier free and wheelchair accessible. You will find that it is essentially flat and that there are two different types of surfaces: Crushed rock and wooden boardwalk.
