Boasting one of the state's first irrigation projects of more than 1,000 acres, Sunnyside is known as the asparagus capital of the Northwest. It is situated in the Yakima River Valley, midway between Yakima and the Tri Cities.
It is in Yakima County, near the Benton County line.
