Spencer Spit State Park

The park's main feature is a quarter-mile long sand spit that contains a saltwater lagoon marsh. The park also contains an archaeological Indian campsite.

The park has a reputation for excellent crabbing, clamming, and boating. In addition, the park features camping, picnicking, beachcombing and birdwatching. This is the only state park on Lopez Island and one of the few in the San Juan Islands accessible both by land and water.

The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and includes about a quarter million acres. To make a reservation at more then 60 Washington state parks, contact Washington State Parks from May 15 to Sept. 15.
