Sequim is an Indian word for "quiet waters", and it truly is, with two naturally occurring and overlapping spits which leave a zig-zag entrance into the bay from the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The park features camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, clamming, scuba diving, beachcombing, marine life study, field and group sports, tennis, hiking, flora study and bird watching.

The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and includes about a quarter million acres. To make a reservation at more then 60 Washington state parks, contact Washington State Parks from May 15 to Sept. 15.
