The upper trails of the park have beautiful views of Maury and Vashon Islands, the Olympic Mountains, and spectacular sunsets.

Memorial Day through Labor Day there is a guided nature walk each Sunday.

The park features picnicking, camping, scuba diving, hiking, clamming, and wildlife-watching opportunities. The park has tide pools and an underwater artificial reef. This park on the eastern shores of Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma is the most-used state park on Puget Sound.

The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and covers about a quarter million acres.
