Pete Peterson StudioTraditional Bentwood Boxes |
Pete Peterson, a Skokomish commercial fisherman and artist, specializes in bending cedar planks into large, lidded bentwood boxes, which were traditionally used as storage chests by Native Americans.
Peterson does not exhibit his work in galleries, but rather chooses to meet visitors and buyers at his modest home and artist studio in Hoodsport. Besides bentwood boxes, other artwork by Pete Peterson includes cradles, masks, carved bowls, and more.
