Padilla Bay Reserve & Interpretive Cente |
The reserve is a 11,000-acre area designed to protect habitats ranging from open marine waters, tideflats, marshes and beaches to wooded uplands and open fields. The reserve supports a variety of fish, birds and mammals, including nearly 250 species of visiting birds.
There are several hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and an interpretive center which displays photographs, artifacts and dioramas that focus on the variety of wildlife habitats native to Padilla Bay. The center also includes simulated environments, marine aquariums, a hands-on room for children, and an education program featuring classroom and field studies for K-12.
