Old Fort Townsend State Park

The park consists of slightly more then a third of the original Fort Townsend built in 1856 by the U.S. Army for the protection of settlers.

A large, active bald eagle nesting site is located in a secluded portion of the park overlooking Port Townsend Bay.

The park features camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, clamming and crabbing.

The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and covers about a quarter million acres.
