Mount Spokane State Park |

The park, as well as the city, river and many other features of the area, derives its name from an Indian word which means "sun".
The park features a variety of activities for both winter and summer use. In winter, there is downhill and nordic skiing, sledding and snowmobiling. In summer there is camping, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking and mountain biking.
The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and covers about a quarter million acres.
