Sam Hill, a wealthy enterpreneaur, built a "castle" home on a hill near the park for his daughter Mary; thus the name Maryhill.
Sam's home, now the Maryhill Museum, is located three miles from the park, and a full scale model of Stonehenge are both open to the public.
A steam locomotive is on display in the park.
The park is right on the Columbia River, and features boating, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, swimming, water skiing, and windsurfing.
The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and includes about a quarter million acres. To make a reservation at more then 60 Washington state parks, contact Washington State Parks from May 15 to Sept. 15.
