Lakewold GardensLakewold Gardens is a beautiful ten acre public estate garden showcasing stunning formal gardens as well as nauturalistic displays. |
This includes woodland areas, aquatic displays, waterfalls, rock and alpine gardens, a knot garden, kitchen garden, shade garden, rose garden and fern garden. Lakewold features rolling lawns, topiary, statuary, formal parterre (boxwood edged) beds and a 230-foot herringbone pattern brick walkway which leads to the 'Tea House'. The collections include over 250 species of Rhododendron, over 30 varieties of Japanese Maple, and many unique trees, shrubs and groundcovers from around the world. Lakewold also is a splended example of noted lanscaped architect Thomas Church's residential designs. Lakewold Gardens is a popular site for weddings and other special events. Guided Tours are available April - September by advance reservation only. Self-guided tours are available year-round.
