Formerly known as Detroit, Grapeview is situated on Case Inlet between Stretch and Reach Islands. Grapeview maintains its own school district, although high school students must attend neighboring districts.
The town is named for nearby vineyards, and is a convenient place for boating, fishing, and sightseeing activities.
