Gateway to the Cascades

A former prospector's camp, Gold Bar, (Pop. (2000) about 2014. Elevation: 200 feet), is a logging headquarters which also serves the needs of small farms in the region.

The town lies on the Skykomish River in the Snohomish River Basin and is connected to Monroe, Startup and other Snohomish County towns to the west by Highway 2.

Gold Bar is part of the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA metro area. The nearest city with pop. 50,000+: Everett, WA (35.7 miles, pop. 91,488).
