Center for Wooden BoatsExplore Seattle's Hands-on Maritime Heritage Museum |
The purpose of the museum is to preserve the rich, vital and varied small craft heritage by preserving both the artifacts and time-tested maritime skills.
Our small maritime museum emphasizes teaching through direct interaction with the collection. This consists of 150 wooden rowboats and sailboats.
The center also offers workshops in knot tying, boat building, tool making, wood carving, and other subjects. Free classic boat rides every Sunday. Take a sailing lesson in one of our traditional boats and then rent one of our small craft. Also visit our gift shop.
Open all year. Admission is free, donations gladly accepted.
