Historic Borst Home

Built in the early 1860's, this stately white mansion is located on the banks of the Chehalis River near Centralia in Borst Park. Joseph Borst calculated that it was so well built that it would last 80 years.

It has already lasted well past a century and is still going strong. Much of this is due to the careful use of finest wood in the construction.

The home is adjacent to Borst Park, which contains the old Fort Borst Blockhouse, and a model of a one-room schoolhouse.

The home is open to the public Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4, Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Group tours are offered throughout the year by appointment on Monday through Friday by calling ahead to the Centralia Parks Department. There is an admission fee of $2.00.

There are many Historic Houses preserved in all regions of Washington.
