Joe Hunkins, born in New York and now living in Oregon, is a long-time innovator on the Internet. Educated in California and married to a native of Minnesota, Joe travels around the country a lot. During his trips to Virginia, he has developed a keen interest in both the American Revolution and the Civil War.

This blog began as his family traveled through Europe by train – from Voss, Norway to Venice, Italy via Copenhagen, Paris, Brig (Switzerland), Cinque Terre, and Rome thanks in part to a sponsorship with Eurail.
