Griffin Hospital, based in Derby, Connecticut, strives to provide compassionate healthcare services in a healing environment.

Established in June 1994, the community hospital is an affiliate of Planetree - an international, non-profit, consumer health organization. It is the nationís only hospital to have been ranked five times by Fortune Magazine in its "100 Best Companies to Work for in America" list.

Griffin Hospital extends its services in a variety of specialty areas. The Childbirth Center provides family-centered maternity care. A variety of educational classes are imparted to expectant mothers. Rapid Diagnostic Breast Center is a full-service breast screening and diagnostic facility.

The Integrative Medicine Center (IMC) serves as the only center in the Northeast to provide holistic, dual conventional/naturopathic evaluation of the patients.

The Occupational Medicine Center deals with the treatment of work-related injuries. The Cancer Program, accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, provides diagnostic, surgical, and support services for the treatment of cancer.

In addition, the hospital has a Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Center, Pain & Headache Center, Digestive Disorders Center, Sleep Wellness Center and Wound Center.

Areas of specialization, among many others, include Cardiology, Radiology, Respiratory & Pulmonary Medicine, Mental Health, and Physical Medicine. A full range of diagnostic and rehabilitation services are also available.

Griffin Hospital offers excellent research and training facilities at Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center, the Women's Health Coordination Center, the Department of Medical Education, and the Center for Health & Human Rights.

A full spectrum of community services, including free health screenings, training, and lectures, are offered every year to evoke public awareness.

Facilities such as a cafeteria, pharmacy, and gifts shop are available on Griffinís campus.
