Yellowbottom Campground

On the Mt. Jefferson Loop. A part of the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail.

This is a Salem BLM Office managed site. From Sweet Home, take Quartzville Road 24 miles NE of Highway 20 junction. On Quartzville Creek. There are 21 tent sites and 10 drive-through sites for trailers/RVs up to 28 feet with picnic tables, fire grills, potable, piped water, and vault toilets. Leashed pets OK. No reservations. Open mid-May through late Sept.

For Birders, this area has the highest concentration of breeding Harlequin Ducks in Oregon. Best season to view the ducks is May - August. Other species spotted include; Osprey, Spotted Sandpiper, Belted Kingfisher, and American Dipper, Hermit Warbler, Western Tanager, Swainson's Thrush, winter Wren and Varied Thrush.
