Yaquina Bay |
The city of Newport faces onto Yaquina Bay, created where the Yaquina River meets the Pacific. The bridge carrying Highway 101 across the bay is the signature image of Newport. The Yaquina Bay State Park is now a state park.
Yaquina Bay extends inland as far as Toledo. Oregon Coast Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Science Center are on the south side of the bay.
