Wheeler is located in Tillamook County, between Rockaway Beach and Nehalem along Highway 101 and the Nehalem River.
A small former mill town, Wheeler is having a revival as a tourist destination. Situated within the Tillamook State Forest, this cozy community offers plenty of Outdoor Activities. Fishing the Nehalem Bay via Wheeler has been known to produce hearty salmon, steelhead and searun cut-throat.
The main street of Wheeler was the rustic Australian village in the movie "Point Break." The Pacific Ocean is just a rock skip away from this town of 300.
