The Umpqua Discovery Center, located on the scenic Umpqua riverfront in Reedsport, is dedicated to two themes, displayed in two exhibit wings.
As you visit the "Umpqua Experience Wing," you will learn how the water, land, and people shaped and changed each other. The landscape exhibit with its hands-on computerized topographic display will help you learn about the geology of the area from the mountains to the ocean.
You can also hear the sounds of nature and learn about the majestic Roosevelt elk and other animal and plant life in the area. Try your hand at forecasting the weather on the working weather station.
