If you are seeking isolation and primitive camping, this camp with it’s outstanding alpine beauty is well worth the effort. This camp serves as a trailhead to many wilderness trails.Note: The mosquito population is high from June to mid-August. Elev. 5,200 feet and the use is Light to Moderate The season, (Snow dependant), is July through September. There is a 14-day camping limit at this site. A per night fee is charged.
There are six tent, auto, trailer/RV sites, Pit toilets, Fire rings, A wilderness guard station, NO drinking, (potable), water is available. The major activities at this camp are: Camping, Berry picking, Picnicking, Fishing and Hiking. The Three Sisters Wilderness Area, Waldo Lake and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail are nearby.
The location is 43 miles from Oakridge. From Oakridge, proceed east on Highway 58 for 25 miles to Waldo Lake Road (FS Road 5897). Follow Waldo Lake Road for 11 miles to FS Road 5898. Continue on FS Road 5898 for 1.3 miles to FS Road 514. Follow FS Road 514 for 7 miles to Taylor Burn Forest Camp. NOTE: The Taylor Burn Road (FS Road 514), is an unimproved road and not recommended for trailers or low clearance vehicles.
