South Fork Desolation Trail #3001

This 8.1 mile trail is within the Vinegar Hill-Indian Rock Scenic Area in the Umatilla National Forest, and is open to hikers, horses, and mountain bikes. The trail offers beautiful meadow scenery, and dispersed camping is located near the trailhead. Hike summer-fall.

From Hwy 395 near Dale, take Forest Road #10 east approximately 22 miles. Turn south on Forest Road #45 1/4 mile to the trailhead just before the bridge on the left.
