Smith Rock State Park

Geological Wonderland in Central Oregon

Smith Rock State Park Terrebonne, Oregon (State Parks) image

This 641-acre park preserves the majestic rock spires of the Crooked River Canyon while providing scenic viewing and picnicking.

Smith Rock is thought to be named for John Smith, pioneer sheriff of Linn County and member of the Oregon state legislature, who discovered the feature during a trip into the Crooked River country.

Smith Rock State Park offers more than a thousand bolted rock climbing routes, as well as hiking and mountain bike trails, and a walk-in bivouac camp.
