On the edge of the high desert and just west of Redmond, Sisters is the major recreational crossroads of Highway 20, 242 and [126], connecting the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon.
Incorporated April, 1946, this charming little town has a population of 1,430. The snow-capped Three Sisters Peaks, originally called Faith, Hope and Charity, form a backdrop for Sisters and the Deschutes National Forest. Wooden sidewalks and facades provide a frontier town flavor. Sisters' commercial district has developed an 1880's western town with many unique shops, galleries and eating establishments. This little town hosts over 300 business licenses.
Popular recreational activities only minutes away include: Hiking, Mountain Biking, Skiing, swimming, Fishing, golfing, Whitewater Rafting and sightseeing. The Deschutes River, a short distance away to the east, offers several of these water sport activities.
