Sherwood Oregon

The city of Sherwood is located off of Highway 99W, between Tigard and Newberg, an important transportation triangle in south Washington County. The location also makes it ideal for professionals who commute to work in Portland and return to live in the harmony of Sherwood's community.

Sherwood was founded by James C. Smock, who named the community Smockville. Later residents found the name Sherwood more appealing.

The protected wetlands of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and the rolling hills of fertile farmland surround Sherwood's bustling city center and roads. The peacefulness of Old Town's tea shops and antique stores are only minutes away from new commercial businesses.

Sherwood's community celebrates their annual Robin Hood Festival the third weekend in July.

Sherwood is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.

There is also a Sherwood, Maryland.
