Sand Lake Recreation Area provides access to sand dunes with easy to difficult riding for all classes of ATV's. There is a fee for entry and camping. Maps are available from the local Forest Service office in Hebo.
Sand Lake Recreation Area is located 17 miles southwest of Tillamook.
A ATV permit is required for Memorial, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends – from the Hebo Ranger District in advance. During these high-volume times, the number of available permits is limited to 1,200 to help reduce overuse. Purchase your permit in advance.
