Nehalem is located in Tillamook County south of Astoria, between Manzanita (one mile south) and Wheeler, along Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean. The Nehalem River and its bay is a popular commodity for kayakers, fishermen (salmon & steelhead), clammers and crabbers. Antique shops and specialty stores lend a special uniqueness to this picturesque community. The Nehalem Bay State Park is a good spot to camp, take a walk on the beach or ride Horses.
This community was named for the Nehalem Indian Tribe.
