Mt. Thielsen Wilderness |
The 55,100 acre Mt. Thielsen Wilderness is located in three National Forests - the Deschutes National Forest, Umpqua National Forest, and Winema National Forest - and is the only wilderness area in Oregon classified as pristine. The highest point in the wilderness is 9,182 Mount Thielsen, a popular destination for climbers.
The Mt. Thielsen Wilderness contains 78 miles of hiking trails, including a 26 mile portion of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.
