Mt. Jefferson Vista - Detroit Lake On the Mt. Jefferson Loop. A part of the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail.

An observation vista of Mt. Jefferson and Detroit Lake from Highway 22 at Mile Post 48. This site is located two miles West of Detroit. The turnout is on the south side of the highway.

Careful observers may see; Western and Horned Grebes, Common Loon, Hooded and Common Mergansers. Sea Gulls are common fall through spring visitors. Bald Eagle and Osprey may be seen as well. Good binoculars or a "Spotting" scope are recommended.
