Metolius-Windigo Trail #99 |
This long-distance horse/hiking trail can be accessed from many trailheads in the Bend/Fort Rock, Sisters, and Crescent Ranger Districts. The trail is approximately 120 miles long and begins near the Metolius River headwaters west of Sisters and runs south to Windigo Pass near Crescent Lake.
The trail was created by linking sections of existing trails to serve an an alternate to the Pacific Crest Trail, which has more mosquitoes and more snow. The Metolius-Windigo Trail passes through a variety of scenic terrain. Contact the Sisters Ranger District for more information on this trail.
