Lafayette Oregon

Oregon's Third Oldest City

Lafayette is located in Yamhill County southwest of Portland, between Newberg and McMinnville along Highway 99W. The town is also situated near the Willamette River.

The community was first founded in 1847 by Joel Perkins and named after Perkins' home town of Lafayette, Indiana - incorporated in 1878.

Lafayette has a picturesque historic district and is well known for its antique stores. The Lafayette Locks Park is also a fun and relaxing historical area within the city.

There is also a Lafayette, Louisiana.

Lafayette is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
