Jackson County Museum

Jackson County Museum Jacksonville, Oregon (History Museums) image

Until the county seat was moved to Medford the museum building served as the county courthouse. Museum exhibits include a section featuring the works of Peter Britt, as well as exhibits on the history of the Oregon and California Railroad in the Rogue Valley, mining, the Chinese, and Jacksonville history in general.

The town attractions include Jacksonville Children's Museum and a History Store.

Starting on April 14, 2004 the Southern Oregon Historical Society will begin an extensive exhibit change at its Jacksonville Museum.

A long-range plan for SOHS to open a permanent exhibit to represent the history of Native Americans in Southern Oregon
