A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village |

A.C. Gilbert may not be a household name, but the museum that bears his name is full of his inventions, from Erector sets to American Flyer trains. It's a great stop for kids of all ages. The museum is a tribute to Gilbert's belief that learning should be fun, using toys that promote curiosity and constructive thinking.
The building itself was actually the home of A.C.'s uncle, Andrew Gilbert, and was built in its present location on Salem's downtown waterfront in 1887. The beautiful renovation of this Victorian home makes it an architectural delight to visit.
A.C. Gilbert was an alumnus of Pacific University in Forest Grove.
