Flavel House |
This magnificent home, considered by many to be the finest example of Queen Anne style architecture in Astoria, sits on park-like grounds covering an entire city block. Its decorative exterior, with hipped roof, balconies and verandas, is distinguished by a fourth-story cupola used by Captain Flavel and his wife to watch river traffic.
As guests walk through the large, high-ceilinged rooms, with their elegant woodwork, they will discover furnishings, art, and decor typical of the Flavel home a century ago.
Each August the public is invited to partake of English tea and scones from two to four every afternoon in the elegant dining room.
Many Historic Houses have been preserved throughout Oregon.
