Estacada Oregon

Christmas Tree Capital of the world

Estacada is located in Clackamas County, southeast of Portland, between Eagle Creek and Molalla, at the Hwy 224 and Hwy 211 junction. This community is also situated in a valley at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, sheltered by the forested bluffs that overhang the Clackamas River.

Built in 1882, the historic Philip Foster Farm was the last stop on the Oregon Trail before pioneers reached Oregon City. The town was founded in 1905 to house workers building dams on the Clackamas River.

After the building of the dams, the primary economy has been lumber. As this has fallen on hard times, the town has been depressed in recent years. However, power and recreation have added progress to Estacada's economy. The area is truly beautiful, and a popular get-away for residents from nearby cities.

Estacada is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
