Eastern Oregon Museum Haines, Oregon (History Museums) image

Home to the finest collection of Western Memorabilia in the Northwest. Over 10,000 Artifacts of Nostalgia. Like Grandma's attic, the museum contains an outstanding collection of household, farming, mining, and pioneer artifacts.

Located on the grounds is the old Union Pacific Railroad Depot, which was built in the 1880's and donated when the railroad discontinued stops at Haines in 1962. There is also a century-old poplar tree from Washington Gulch, with a well-preserved scythe grown into it where a forgetful harvester hung it before the turn of the century.

Exhibit catagories include;

  • Logging & Mining
  • Cowboy Memorabilia & Ranching
  • The Railroad Depot
  • The Carraige Wing
  • Housewares & Period Clothing
  • Antique Dolls & Toys
  • A One Room Schoolhouse

The Museum operates as a non-profit corporation and is staffed entirely by volunteers from the Baker Valley Community.
The Museum operates daily from May 18 through Labor Day.
Groups by appointment.
