The Dalles Dam Visitor Center |
Exhibits at the Visitor Center portray the history of the cultural and natural environment of The Dalles Dam. They also explain the mission of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in providing electricity, navigation, flood control and navigation.
Take Interstate 84 Exit 87 (The Dalles Dam exit) and proceed on Clodfelter Way .5 mile east to the Visitor Center. There is ample parking for 14 buses and RVs. The facilities are handicap accessible with a wheel chair available upon request.
The Visitor Center is also the gathering area for the FREE rides to the dam on The Dalles Dam Tour Train.
Both the train and the center are operated by the Northern Wasco County Parks. The center stays open one hour after the last train departure each day.
