Clackamas Lake Campground

On the Mt. Hood Loop Trail. A part of the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail.

Clackamas Lake Campground, elevation: 3,400 feet, offers 46 sites for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 32 ft. The campground is wheelchair accessible and horses are allowed. Drinking water is available.

The first 19 campsites are setup to accept horses. For birders, forest and wetland species may be seen.

The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and Clackamas River are nearby, and Timothy Lake is only a 1 mile hike away.

Directions: Starting at Government Camp on Highway 26, go southeast for about 14 miles to Forest Service Road #42, then south on Forest Service Road #42, (Skyline Rd), for about 9 miles to Forest Service Road #57. Go another 500 feet, (on 42), past the historic ranger station to Forest Service Road #4270, turning left, go another 0.5 miles to the campground.
