In the Mount Hood National Forest, Bear Springs Campground offers 21 campsites for tents or RVs up to 32 feet, in old growth forest. Some of the campsites are in the open, some are secluded. Basic services and facilities are provided.
From Government Camp, follow Highway 26 toward the south for 13 miles. At the junction with Highway 216, turn left, (East), for another five miles to the camp. The camp is situated on northwest corner of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, (Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs).
For Birders, Forested wetland meadow and mixed conifer forest offer good habitat for spring songbirds and typical forest species year-round. Pileated Woodpecker, Western Tanager, Black-headed Grosbeak and Red-breasted Nuthatch are common. Owls are often seen during the sumer.
