T. Roosevelt Inaugural Nat Hist Site

On September 14, 1901, Theodore Roosevelt was inaugurated as the 26th President in the Ansley Wilcox house after the assassination of President McKinley. Before becoming a National Historic Site, the house had a varied history as a U.S. Army Barracks, a prominent Buffalo residence and later a popular restaurant. The house, built in 1838 in Greek Revival style, exhibits artifacts relating to President William McKinley's assassination, Presidents Roosevelt's inauguration, and a slide presentation - and changing exhibits.
