Syracuse New York

Syracuse is located in Onondaga County 76 miles North of Binghamton along Interstate 90 in the Western Region of the state. Syracuse is part of the Syracuse, New York metro area.

It was named after the ancient Sicilian city and the city's early economy was based on salt production. A Syracuse shoe company patented the world's first loafer in 1933. Kraft Foods lists Syracuse as one of the top four cities in America for per-capita consumption of Cool Whip.
